Europe’s leading integrative medical wellness leaders to speak at Global Wellness Summit

by Jane Kitchen | 25 May 2016

The Global Wellness Summit’s 2016 agenda will take a deep dive into the unique integrative medical wellness offerings of Europe.

Delegates to the 10th anniversary Summit in Tyrol, Austria in October will hear from numerous pioneers in medical wellness, including Henri Chenot, founder of the Chenot Group, which operates wellness centers around the world based on the Chenot Method, and is the author of several books on health and wellness; Dr. Christian Harisch, CEO and owner of Lanserhof Group in Austria; Dr. Harald Stossier, Director of the Viva Mayr Medical Clinic in Austria; and Dr. Harald F. König from Brenners Park Hotel and Spa.

“Europe has a long and extremely successful history of developing life-changing wellness destinations that harness the best of modern and holistic medical approaches, creating programs so effective that clients return year after year,” said Susie Ellis, GWS chair and CEO. “Decades of positive results can’t be ignored – and the entire spa and wellness industry can learn a tremendous amount from these leaders.”

Ellis continued, “Hosting the Summit in the heartland of medical wellness gives us the unique ability to attract people from the very top of this field.”

Located in the German spa town of Baden-Baden, Brenners Park Hotel & Spa is known for its strong medical credentials, and opened a new luxury spa, Villa Stephanie, in 2015.

Created by Henri Chenot, the Chenot Method is available in dedicated centres, including the flagship Hotel Palace Merano in Italy and the soon-to-open Chenot Palace in Azerbaijan, as well as in luxury hotels and spas across Europe and Africa. The centres are known for their personalised medical, aesthetic and dietetic treatments and programs.

For over three decades, Lanserhof has offered its LANS Med Concept, which combines traditional naturopathy and state-of-the-art medicine to treat both mind and body, and is available at three destinations including the flagship Lanserhof in Austria.

Based on the “Mayr cure” developed in 1920 by Dr. Franz Mayr, the Viva Mayr clinic focuses on long-term health through preventative medicine, including a famously strict (and successful) detox plan and individualized treatment programs.

This year’s Global Wellness Summit will be held on October 17-19 at KitzKongress, Kitzbühel in Tyrol, Austria. Summits have taken place in the U.S., Switzerland, Turkey, Bali, India, Morocco and Mexico City. The 2016 Summit will be held in Kitzbühel, Tyrol, Austria from October 17-19.
