Friends pop-up moves from New York to Boston as part of show's 25th anniversary
A pop-up experience dedicated to the Friends television show, which launched in New York in September is moving to Boston from 21 November to 5 January 2020.
Created by live experience provider Superfly, with collaboration on planning, design and implementation by JRA, and in association with Warner Bros Television Group and Warner's consumer products arm, the Friends pop-up experience celebrates the 25th anniversary of the show's debut in 1994.
Fans can explore set re-creations, props and costumes, buy merchandise, and indulge in some classic Friends fun, such as playing foosball at Chandler and Joey's, learning Monica's top tidying tips, and posing for pictures on the famous orange couch in the recreated Central Perk coffee house.
The experience opened seven days a week, from 10am until 10pm, from 7 September to 6 October in New York.
In Boston, fans will be treated to a special 'Friendsgiving' event on Thursday, November 28, from 11am to 5pm.
The attraction will also open on New Year’s Eve from 9.30am to 12.10am and New Year’s Day from 9.30am to 10.00am with commemorative merchandise.
"As we celebrate the show's milestone anniversary, we're excited to bring the Friends experience to life for our fans in a way that pays homage to the remarkable cast of characters, iconic sets and instantly quotable moments," said Peter van Roden, senior VP for Global Themed Entertainment at Warner Bros Consumer Products.
