Nohlab's 'Everything' installation among Noor Riyadh festival highlights

Noor Riyadh is an annual, city-wide festival of light and art that nurtures creativity

An immersive audiovisual experience that "observes everything as it is" was a among the highlights of this year's Noor Riyadh festival in Saudi Arabia.

Created by design studio Nohlabs, the installation – called Everything – is true to its name and questions everything in existence by suggesting new possibilities for them.

Offering visitors the opportunity to observe the elements that construct their everyday lives, the experience ascribes new meanings to things, providing a new way to grasp how the vast "system of existence" around them is prone to many questions.

Using large AV installations and innovative spaces, guests follow a storyline in which science, philosophy and metaphysics converge.

For the three-week long Noor Riyadh festival, Everything was located in Riyadh's Jax district, described as one of the most exciting creative areas of Riyadh. Once a forgotten industrial area in Ad-Diriyah, Jax has become revitalised as a hive of creativity, with exhibition spaces, artists’ studios, art galleries and platforms all supporting a dynamic and growing arts ecosystem.

During the festival, Jax was transformed into a district in which guests had their "perception destabilized and their judgment called into question" through art and design.

In addition to Everything, other highlights included two large installations by artist David Spriggs, which created a dialogue between guests exploring opacity and transparency both perceptually and conceptually.

Noor Riyadh is an annual, city-wide festival of light and art that nurtures creativity, promotes talent and delivers awe-inspiring experiences. For more information on the festival, click here.
