Hart Howerton create new resort for Jamaica's luxury Half Moon property
– Guy Steuart III
Hart Howerton have designed a new resort for Jamaica's 400ac (162ha) luxury Half Moon property called Eclipse at Half Moon, which is described as "a celebration of authentic Jamaican culture reflecting its surrounding natural beauty."
The Eclipse resort joins the existing Founders Cove at Half Moon and Rose Hall Villas at Half Moon resorts at the Salamander Hotels & Resorts-managed location between Montego Bay and the Caribbean Sea.
The resort revolves around the Great House, which houses a lobby and reception area with a view of the ocean, as well as some of the 57 accommodations on offer.
Second-floor rooms feature balconies and views, while the resort's "signature" Great House Ocean Suite comprises an open-plan design with two bedrooms, a living area, a dining area and a balcony overlooking the Great Lawn and the Caribbean Sea.
Estate Homes set into tropical gardens have private entrances, up to four bedrooms, butler pantries and living and dining terraces, as well as being oriented so that guests can enjoy views of the sunrise.
There are also 32 Prestige Ocean Rooms in low-profile cottages with views of the Caribbean Sea, reading coves, artwork on the walls and verandas or terraces.
The resort's spa is set in two overwater bungalows, which contain facilities for massage treatments and yoga classes, while guests also have access to an infinity-edge pool, a natural swimming cove and seven bars and restaurants.
"Eclipse is a distinct luxury experience and one that honours and complements Half Moon’s legacy and character," said Guy Steuart III, chairman of the board at Half Moon. "Guests will discover our unique spirit of character and culture amidst traditional, elegant architecture inspired by our surroundings, and dimensioned within an abundance of roamable beach and gardens."
