Waterfront spa to debut in Florida following US$1bn revamp of Pier Sixty-Six resort by Tavistock Development Company
A brand new destination spa will arrive in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in Q4 following a major overhaul of the state’s historic Pier Sixty-Six resort.
Called Zenova Spa & Wellness, the facility will come to fruition as part of the US$1 billion (€926.9 million, £782.3 million) resort-wide redevelopment project being conducted by design and development operation Tavistock Development Company – also the owner behind Orlando’s established Lake Nona wellness community.
Zenova will open with nine treatment rooms, a retail area, relaxation spaces, a Technogym fitness centre, a full-service salon and a VIP Couples’ Suite.
The jewel in the spa’s crown will be its co-ed contrast bathing facility called Via Aquae.
This space will include an Aufguss-style performance sauna, multisensory experience showers and a vitality pool overlooking the resort and cityscape.
The offering will be completed with a refreshing TechnoAlpin snow room infused with alpine forest scents. The first of its kind in the region, the experience room is being supplied by TechnoAlpin’s US distributor Perfect Wellness.
"As South Florida continues to evolve as a premier destination for wellness and relaxation, Zenova will set the new standard for wellness," said Linda Higgs, director of spa and wellness at Pier Sixty-Six.
"From the soothing scents of aromatic oils upon arrival to our high-tech treatments and personalised rituals, every aspect has been designed to combine the pursuit of inner peace with the exploration of new wellness innovations.”
Spa and wellness consultancy Blu Spas Inc has been a key partner in the Zenova project since 2020. Its involvement has spanned from conducting feasibility studies and developing the concept to delivering technical services and coordinating closely with the project team.
During the process, Blu Spas has collaborated with architecture studio HKS Architects and interiors firm JBI | Jeffrey Beers International to bring the spa to life.

Treatments at Zenova will tap luxury skincare and skin health brands Elemis and Oxylight.
In addition to traditional European spa treatments, guests will be able to opt for a selection of modern tech-backed rituals incorporating diamond dermabrasion, microcurrent and LED light therapy, acoustic resonance and binaural meditation and more.
Outside the walls of Zenova, spa treatments will also be available to book in Pier Sixty-Six’s guestrooms, residences, poolside cabanas and on yachts docked in its superyacht marina.
Sustainability will be at the forefront of Zenova’s daily practices offering premium eco-vanity amenity brands, like Sustayne, which is made of upcycled wheat straw, to ocean and reef-friendly suncare products, glass over plastic-ware and compostable single-use items.
Additional brands partnered with the facility include spa and wellness equipment supplier Living Earth Crafts.
Wellness programmingOperated by CoralTree Hospitality, Pier Sixty-Six will also offer an array of individual and social wellness activities, including private yoga and meditation sessions, sound bathing, chakra rebalancing, tantric heart-to-heart sessions and cabana massages by the poolside.
Visitors will also be invited to engage in sustainability workshops, makeup lessons, candle-making, aromatherapy workshops, watercolour meditation classes and more.
About Pier Sixty-Six
Set on 32 waterfront acres, Pier Sixty-Six was first established in the 1950s as a fuel dock and gas station. In 1965, the 17-storey hotel debuted as the tallest in town, distinguished by its towering spires and the iconic revolving Pier Top bar.
The resort will reopen ahead of the spa in Q3 with 325 guestrooms and suites, 12 dining destinations and 40,000sq ft of event space, all anchored by the property’s iconic, spire-topped tower; a marina promenade featuring restaurants, retailers and offices; and residential offerings.
The property also features a 164-slip, deep-water marina which remains open during construction.
