Touchless therapies meet traditional wellness at newly-renovated Privai Spa + Fitness Center in Miami
Arch Amenities Group (AAG)* has announced the opening of its first Privai Spa + Fitness Center in a hotel – the 411-room Kimpton Epic Hotel in Miami, Florida.
The newly-renovated 5,000sq ft fitness and wellness centre provides access to a range of spa treatments, Technogym fitness equipment, group and private classes, a wellness lounge, a Medi-Spa and programmes designed to benefit mind, body and soul.
Charlotte Prescott, centre director, explained that touchless technology is key to the facility’s identity: “We intend to feature new technology therapies in the lounge every six months or so".
Currently featured in the wellness lounge are Somadome meditation pods, which offer colour light therapy, sound therapy and energy medicine using magnets and crystal strips.
Another of the spa’s signature technologies is PureWave Technologies VEMI, which couples vibration and electromagnetic therapy with infrared heat and sound.
“We bring in technology and touchless experiences to augment wellness benefits – such as sauna blankets that can be an add-on to a massage,” Prescott said.
Traditional spa facilities at Privai Miami include a co-ed communal sauna, separate thermal facilities for men and women, an infrared sauna, salt chambers, relaxation spaces and locker rooms stocked with Privai products.
Privai is AAG's signature skincare and bodycare line which was established in 2006.
Treatment highlights
The centre's touchless technology experiences are complemented by waxing services and signature Privai facials and body treatments, including sleep rituals, detox treatments and Himalayan salt stone massages.
AAG has topped the menu up with branded OM4Men and Botanika Lif treatments as well as Glo2Facials by Geneo, Dr Babor Prescription Facials and Powered by Green Science Facials.
Reflexology, reiki and cupping therapies complete the offering, as well as acupressure ear seeding and aura cleansing.
Mindful movementThe fitness centre’s selection of Technogym equipment includes the Excite Live Run treadmill, Selectorized strength machines and free weights.
Meanwhile, its class schedule offers HIIT training, cardiovascular and strength training, meditation and movement classes, yoga, sound baths, dance classes, group reiki and Yogalates.
The Medi-Spa
The Miami Privai also caters to medical wellness and has established a partnership with The Biostation, which provides hospitality-level medical wellness services and is led by medical director Dr Martin G. Bloom.
“We focus on restoring guests' health from the inside out by offering personalised treatment protocols, doctor-designed nutrient infusions, medical weight-loss programmes and high-quality supplements that strive to promote optimal health and prevent age-related symptoms,” he said.
“Additionally, our aesthetics providers offer advanced solutions that aim to prevent and eliminate signs of ageing and restore natural beauty and radiance.”
Membership optionsThe facility offers memberships to residents of the adjacent Epic Residences Condo Towers and other local residents.
Benefits include unlimited group exercise classes, access to locker rooms and spa facilities, two guest passes per month, hotel pool access and access to e-mindful and members-only sales and events.
Members also receive discounts on spa services, spa boutique purchases, food service at the pool, dinner at the hotel’s Area 31 restaurant, hotel accommodations and parking.
Upon joining, members receive the following gifts: one fitness assessment via In Body, a Privai wellness oils gift box, one touchless technology spa experience treatment and a credit towards medi-spa services.
