Bangor arts venue scheme secures funding

Bangor University's (BU) plans for the development of a major new arts and innovation complex have received a £27.5m boost. The Welsh Assembly Government and European Regional Development Fund will help fund the £35m Pontio project, which will provide a "major focus" for Welsh culture. Lego children's centre opens in Hillingdon

More than one million Lego bricks have been used to construct a new children's centre in Hillingdon, West London, which opened on 19 November. Legoland Windsor modellers and WHAT_architecture worked with Hillingdon Council to build the Cowley St Laurence facility. New-look spa for Mandarin Oriental Miami

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has completed work on a refurbishment of the spa facilities at its property in Miami, US. The remodelling of the spa, which was carried out to help mark its 10th anniversary, has been designed by Robert D Henry Architects. Emil Galasso, vice president and co-owner of the Howe Caverns visitor attraction in Cobleskill, New York, has unveiled plans for a new park at the site.
