Waverley Borough Council opens £6m Godalming Leisure Centre
Image: Facilities include a 60-station fitness suite
Waverley Borough Council (WBC) has announced the opening of a new £6m Godalming Leisure Centre in Surrey, which has been unveiled just over a year after work first started.
ISG was responsible for delivering the Pozzoni-designed facility, which is operated by DC Leisure and houses a 60-station gym - 40 of which are cardiovascular equipment.
The rest of the first-floor fitness suite contains around 20 stations of resistance equipment, with users able to tailor sessions to tone, build up muscle and improve general fitness.
Cardiovascular equipment was supplied by Precor, while London 2012 supplier Technogym has provided resistance equipment.
Elsewhere, Godalming Leisure Centre houses a large dance studio and a six-lane, 25m pool with spectator seating, as well as a learner pool and a café.
WBC mayor Tony Gordon-Smith said: "A new leisure centre being built in the town in an Olympic year is wonderful to see, and the icing on the cake is the fact it opened ahead of schedule and on budget."
