Swire Hotels to enter US with first East-branded property in 2015
Hong Kong-based Swire Hotels has announced that it will open its first US EAST-branded property at the new US$1bn (€753m, £638m) Brickell City Centre, mixed-use development in downtown Miami, Florida.
Spanning 218,000 sq ft (20,250sq m), EAST, Miami is expected to open in 2015. It will feature 263 guest rooms and 89 serviced apartments, which will also be managed by Swire Hotels.
The hotel will have a spa facility, two restaurants and a rooftop bar, as well as meeting rooms, swimming pool and fitness centre.
Brian Williams, managing director of Swire Hotels said: “We are very excited to be expanding our portfolio to the United States with EAST, Miami. Our hotel aims to create different and surprising experiences that complement the lives of our guests and enhance their lifestyle. EAST is designed to meet the needs of travellers in Miami whilst complementing Brickell CityCentre’s offerings.”
This will be Swire Hotels' first North American venture and the third property under the EAST brand. East, Miami will join Island East in Hong Kong and EAST, Beijing.
