Spas of America unveils Top 100 Spas of 2023, Spa at Séc-he lands first place

Spa and wellness travel website Spas of America has unveiled its Top 100 Spas of 2023, with The Spa at Séc-he in downtown Palm Springs, California, taking the top spot.
The 40,000sq ft hot springs and spa destination launched in April 2023, inspired by the ancient healing waters of the area’s 12,000-year-old Agua Caliente Hot Mineral Spring. The facility is home to 22 private mineral baths, gender-specific bathhouses, 15 treatment rooms, a salon, fitness facilities and outdoor mineral pools.

The spa’s receipt of the accolade hints at just how significant communal wellness, hot springs and social bathing experiences have become for consumers.
Recent research from the Global Wellness Institute (GWI) suggests interest and investment in hot springs developments will only continue to rise in future. In 2022, the global Thermal/Mineral Spring sector was worth US$46.3 billion (£36.4 billion, €42.3 billion) and the GWI predicts it will climb to US$90.5 billion (£71.1 billion, €82.7 billion) by 2027.
Spas of America’s Top 100 Spas of 2023 list includes 82 spas from the US, 14 from Canada, and four from Mexico.
The annual awards are designed to provide insight into the most popular North American spas of the year based on unique page views and consumer choices on the Spas of America platform.
New for 2023, all spas must also uphold a Google Review rating of 4.0 or higher to be considered for inclusion.
According to the team, 2023 marked a noticeable resurgence in spa and wellness travel across North America.
