PortAventura adds luxury option to accommodation offering
This April, as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations, PortAventura is opening five-star boutique hotel Hotel Mansión de Lucy – in the style of a 19th-century American mansion – with theming inspired by the pioneers of gold mining and rail.
The Salou, Spain-based theme park is also extending Hotel Gold River, adding 78 deluxe bedrooms.
The additions signify an investment of €10m (US$11.3, £7.5), helping the park increase its visibility and reputation as a destination resort where families can stay for several days up to two weeks.
“The development of PortAventura Resort’s hotel range is part of our strategy to strengthen our international standing. The resort aims to become one of Europe's best family leisure destinations,” said Sergio Feder, president of the executive committee at PortAventura.
Hotel Mansión de Lucy will feature 28 guestrooms, two suites and a range of other facilities including a gym and spa.
