Mini Mayor campaign is child’s play for Australian theme park
Australian theme park Dreamworld is on the hunt for its first ever Mini Mayor to offer expert insight into what makes kids happy.
All children aged 10 or under can throw in their hat for the 'head of happiness' position, with perks including a two-year Platinum World Pass and a ceremonial ‘key’ to the park, which is owned by Ardent Leisure and comprises more than 50 rides and attractions within 13 different ‘worlds’.
The principle role of Dreamworld’s Mini Mayor will be to represent the under 10 demographic in offering valuable input and feedback on what their constituents most need and want to make them happy.
“We’d like to think we’re in touch with what our younger citizens need in a theme park, but being able to consult with our very own Mini Mayor would make sure we’re on the mark here at Dreamworld,” said Dreamworld CEO Craig Davidson. “What we’re looking for are confident and articulate young candidates who aren’t shy to
have their voice heard.”
Parents of children wishing to enter are asked to visit www.dreamworld.com.au/MiniMayor and submit a short video of their child declaring what makes them happy and why they should be awarded the title of Dreamworld’s Mini Mayor 2014.
Entries close on Friday 4 April, while all accepted video submissions can be viewed at Dreamworld’s YouTube channel.
A selection committee will then choose three finalist candidates, who will partake in the final campaigning session at Dreamworld in May.
The finalists and their families will each receive a holiday to the Gold Coast staying at Australia’s favourite family resort, Paradise Resort for the all-important final week of the mayoral race.
