Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced the openings of its latest properties - one in the Azerbaijani capital Baku and the other in the Pudong area of Shanghai, China.
Located to the east of the Huangpu River, Four Seasons Hotel Pudong, Shanghai forms part of the new 55-storey 21st Century Tower in the district's Lujiazui business hub.
Gensler are behind the exterior design of the building and Wilson Associates worked on the interior of the hotel, which features the 1,765sq m (18,998sq ft) FLARE spa covering the whole 41st floor.
The spa includes six treatment rooms - four single and two VIP spa suites - and the fitness centre on the same floor offers a sauna, a steamroom and ice fountains.
A brine inhalation area in the men's area and a tepidarium room in the women's area are also on offer at the hotel, which has partnered with Guerlain for its spa treatment menu.
• UK-based architects ReardonSmith are behind the design of the Four Seasons Hotel Baku, which includes the 800sq m (8,611 sq ft) Jaleh Spa and Pool among its facilities.
The spa was designed in partnership with Spa Developments Consultancy and Richmond International to include nine single treatment rooms and a VIP couples' suite.
Wet areas supplied by Barr and Wray feature separate hammams for males and females, steamroom and an indoor atrium pool. There is also a beauty and hair salon.
The spa menu features treatments and products created especially by Swiss Perfection, with products from Voya, Sodashi, Comfort Zone; Kerastase; and Cor Silver also used.
