Chiva-som Academy launches virtual Diet and Nutrition certificate to help therapists improve consultations
Spa education centre Chiva-Som International Academy in Bangkok has upgraded its online course offering for spa and wellness students worldwide.
Chiva-Som started offering digital courses in 2020 as an alternative training and education resource during lockdowns and closure.
The initial course selection included focuses on Anatomy and Physiology, Spa Development and Spa Management.
As of 2021, Chiva-Som Academy is rerunning these courses and adding a fresh Diet and Nutrition course alongside a four-hour DIY Face-lifting and Firming Workshop for consumers.
The new nutrition course offers an introduction to the digestive system, an insight into antioxidants and nutrients and their functions and effects, to help participants improve their consultations and treatment plans.
The 60-hour course will help students grasp an understanding of how the digestive system works and recognise a variety of health disorders caused by food and dietary habits.
Participants will also be taught how to name nutrient structures, evaluate food quality, eating habits and how to help clients' change activity patterns over a period of time.
Upon completion, students will get an E-CSA Professional Certificate in Diet and Nutrition.
The course costs THB 17,000 (US$569, £409, €469) per person and is being held on 2 – 13 August 2021.
All Chiva-Som’s Academy sessions will be conducted in English through an easy-to-use, interactive online platform.
There is a limit of 15 students per course and The Anatomy and Physiology and Diet and Nutrition courses are also applicable for a CIBTAC examination.
Private training, customised online courses and corporate workshops are also available for arrangement at an additional charge.
