Zaha Hadid's super-luxe residential tower in Miami will have custom scenting and helipad
Zaha Hadid is the name behind a new, super-luxe residential tower called One Thousand Museum to be built in the Museum Park area of Miami, Florida.
The 62-storey building will have 30,000sq ft of private leisure facilities for residents and their guests, making it an enclosed community.
With 83 exclusive, luxury apartments, One Thousand Museum is offering elegant, six star lifestyle with 'museum-quality' residences. Options will include duplex townhomes, half floor residences, full-floor penthouses and single duplex penthouses.
The building will have a dramatic sculptural concrete exoskeleton, with columns splaying out at the base. Facilities will include a five star restaurant, a double height aquatics centre with indoor infinity pool and outdoor sun deck on the top floors overlooking the Miami skyline and the Atlantic Ocean.
A two-storey wellness and spa centre will occupy two floors at the base of the building, overlooking a sun and swim terrace. A fitness centre will have dedicated ares for movement training and stretching, as well as an outdoor area for other fitness activities. The spa has treatments rooms for body and beauty services, steam and sauna, plunge pools and a relaxation lounge.
A multimedia theatre, billiard room and event space complete the mix. All greenspace and gardens have been designed by Swiss landscape architect Enzo Enea.
The building will also be the first of its type in Miami to have its own private rooftop helipad for those needing to get quickly to their own islands or private yachts.
One Thousand Museum will have its own custom scenting: all interior amenity spaces, including the lobby, wellness and spa levels, aquatic center, and sky lounge, will be perfumed with signature ambient scents designed by olfactory consultants 12.29.
Private residences can be also be scented with a custom or unique new scent for an additional fee.
The building, which is due for completion in 2017, sits adjacent to a number of world class attractions, including the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, which was designed by architect Cesar Pelli, and the recently redesigned Museum Park on Biscayne Bay which was designed by New York’s Cooper, Robertson & Partners.
One Thousand Museum is also situated to take advantage of US$10bn of investments in nearby retail, hospitality, and entertainment developments.
The neighbourhood also has two new museums. The Perez Art Museum Miami, a contemporary collection of international modern art, which opened in in 2014 and the Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science – or MiaSci – which is currently under construction and set for completion in 2016.
MiaSci will be located on the beachfront, east of Biscayne Boulevard between the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts and the American Airlines Arena. The three-storey museum will be set within public gardens, fountains, pools and natural landscaping.
Designed by Grimshaw, it will include the Gulf Stream aquarium, a planetarium, hands-on exhibits and interactive digital technology designed to inspire and engage visitors of all ages.
