Marriott introducing Delos Stay Well hotel rooms at six US properties
– Delos founder and CEO Paul Scialla
Wellness real estate firm Delos is expanding its Stay Well hotel room portfolio into a handful of Marriott International hotels.
The company has completed the installation of Stay Well rooms at six Marriott properties in the US, including Charlotte Marriott City Center, Atlanta Marriott Marquis, Richmond Marriott Short Pump, Residence Inn Orlando Lake Nona, Courtyard Orlando Lake Nona and Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina.
“The growing demand for healthy travel is rapidly increasing, and we have received a tremendous number of requests to open more Stay Well rooms since first debuting the product in Las Vegas,” said Delos founder and CEO Paul Scialla.
“Marriott is one of the most respected and prestigious hotel companies in the world, and we are thrilled to expand the Stay Well experience into their hotels to help meet their guests’ wellness needs. We look forward to a lasting partnership with the company.”
Delos’ Stay Well hotel rooms offer evidence-based health and wellness features that aim to optimise guests’ health, vitality, happiness and wellbeing when travelling. The Stay Well rooms and suites at Marriott will be available for approximately US$30 (€27, £23) per night above prevailing rates.
Features in the Marriott rooms include advanced air purification, essential oil aromatherapy, circadian mood lighting, non-toxic cleaning products, dawn simulation, Vitamin C-infused showers and a healthy mattress.
Through the Stay Well Mobile App, guests of the new Marriott Stay Well rooms also enjoy exclusive access to an innovative jet lag tool, as well as sleep, nutrition and stress management programmes developed by Cleveland Clinic.
“Now more than ever, health and wellness are a top priority in nearly every facet of our lives. The new Stay Well rooms make it feasible for business and leisure travellers alike to easily maintain their healthy lifestyles while away,” said Jim Connelly, senior vice president of operations and owner services at Marriott International.
The expansion of Stay Well across the southeastern United States marks a big step in the growth of the programme, which launched at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas in October 2012.
Since then, Delos has also expanded the programme to include Stay Well Meetings, which integrates features that are intended to provide positive health benefits and lead to increased productivity, collaboration and creativity among attendees.
“The Stay Well experience is changing the way we travel today. By infusing wellness into the built environment, Delos has pioneered a new movement, and Marriott will contribute to the outstanding success of Stay Well by offering individuals healthy travel solutions,” said Dr. Deepak Chopra, founder of The Chopra Foundation and a Delos Advisory Board member.
“As someone who is always on the road, I am thrilled to see these evidence-based wellness technologies introduced in hotels, one of the most important places for health and wellness.”
Delos also has masterminded a US$2bn (€1.8bn, £1.3bn) wellness city in Tampa, Florida, and is working on a Belize eco-resort with actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
