New magazine launches for architects and designers

by Jak Phillips | 23 Feb 2015

Leisure Media, the global media business for professionals working across all the leisure industries, has announced the launch of a new raft of publications for leisure architects, designers, investors and developers.

The company has set up a new global division called CLAD - the Community of Leisure Architects and Designers - to control the venture.

Commenting on the launch, Leisure Media CEO, Liz Terry said: "When our first magazine - Leisure Management - launched in 1980, most leisure buildings were sheds. However, in the intervening years, leisure architecture has come of age as a discipline and many of the world's leading architects have begun to work in our sector. This means that today, some of the most exquisite buildings on the planet are created for leisure purposes.

"Our vision is to celebrate excellence in leisure architecture and design, to champion the work of the amazing people who are responsible for making these places where we choose to spend our time."

CLAD defines leisure as arts & culture, museums & heritage, hotels & hospitality, bars & restaurants, sport & recreation, spa & wellness, health & fitness, attractions, theme parks & entertainment, greenspace, regeneration & mixed use and retail.

CLAD will produce a range of online and print magazines and books to cater for the information needs of everyone involved with the creation of the built environment for leisure.

These include CLADmag - a glossy quarterly magazine, CLADweek, a news and photo-based weekly and CLADbook - an annual handbook.

The portfolio will also include a weekly ezine, digital feeds and a full range of social media options.

You can read the first edition of CLADmag free online here and visit the website here.

All Leisure Media's print and digital titles can be read and downloaded here.
