Kerzner unveils flagship for holistic Siro concept on UNESCO-protected waterfront in Montenegro
Kerzner International has opened its first purpose-built Siro and the launch of the fitness and recovery-focused concept in Europe.
Siro is a fully-integrated hospitality concept targeting guests looking to improve and enhance their active lifestyles. It’s built on five core pillars of wellbeing – nutrition, fitness, sleep, recovery and mindfulness.
The wellness-centric hospitality brand, has only one other destination hotel – Siro One Za’abeel in Dubai, which opened in Q1 2024.
Located at the Porto Montenegro in Tivat, the new hotel has the first Siro apartments which have been designed for every size of group from studios to one-, two- and three-beds. To improve the sleep experience, each is soundproofed and has temperature-regulating mattresses, blackout curtains and a pillow menu.
The property capitalises on its proximity to both the Adriatic and Mount Vrmac, which is popular for hiking, establishing itself as a destination fitness location offering a range of tailored fitness-focused adventures, in addition to the extensive leisure facilities within the property.
Fitness lab
The property has a 1,600sq m fitness lab on the first floor, featuring a climate-controlled 25-metre swimming pool with a retractable roof and various training zones and specialised studios – such as a gym with equipment by Technogym
One of the studios is called the Experience Box and has a range of classes on offer, including HIIT, Hyrox, suspension training and boxing. Masterclasses, such as AC Milan’s class in functional fitness, will be taught by Team Siro ambassadors, while boxing will be led by professional boxer, Ramla Ali.
Other studio spaces are for reformer Pilates, performance-driven training sessions and mindfulness, which will include yoga, meditation and breathwork.
Recovery lab
The 600sq m recovery lab at this property is another key element in the Siro brand, offering guests cutting-edge spa treatments and relaxation experiences to enable faster recovery and enhanced performance. Skincare products are by Proverb.
Recovery areas include 6 treatment rooms, changing room saunas, a recovery lounge, a relaxation Zen room with a Himalayan salt wall and recovery pods that incorporate meditation and mindfulness through visuals, scent infusion and heat therapy.
In addition to a range of massage and physiotherapy treatments for enhanced performance, mobility and rehabilitation, the menu includes tech-focused options, such as EMS (electrical muscle stimulation), full-body red light therapy, compression and percussive therapy. The Gharieni Group has supplied the Welnamis treatment beds, equipped with vibroacoustic technology.
Nutrition
For the first time Siro has created two food and beverage concepts, designed to combine optimised nutrition with social connection. Siro Table is a restaurant that serves guests all day with balanced Mediterranean specialities and Siro Social is a rooftop area for low and no-alcohol cocktails, plus organic and natural wines and tapas.
The Refuel Bar is Siro’s existing grab-and-go concept, with a selection of customisable shakes and healthy snacks.
Mattheos Georgiou, senior vice president of Siro and Rare Finds (another Kerzner brand) told Spa Business exclusively, “Following our bold debut in Dubai, Siro Boka Place is the natural next step, where high-end performance meets the beauty of the landscape. Montenegro embraces a rare fusion of raw nature and breathtaking scenery – giving us the space to expand Siro’s destination fitness offering for the first time, which is all about transforming the great outdoors into a sporting paradise. Designed for those who live with intention and push their limits, Siro Boka Place is the ideal European outpost for the brand.”
Membership options
In addition to welcoming visitors from further afield, the property is offering local residents of Tivat different options for monthly memberships. These deals provide members with access to the fitness and recovery labs, as well as hydrotherapy facilities, over 50 studio classes per week, personal training sessions, body composition analysis and more.
Kerzner’s plan for the Siro brand
At the World Spa and Wellness Convention in London in March 2024, Zoe Wall (vice president, Siro and Wellness for Kerzner) outlined the plan to develop 100 Siro hotels. Properties are already on the cards in Japan, Mexico and Saudi Arabia.
