Even Hotels – one of the first wellness hospitality concepts – will open in Saudi Arabia in 2029
IHG has signed an agreement to open the Even Hotel Dammam in Saudi Arabia, the debut property for its wellness brand in the Middle East. The 300-key property is slated to open in January 2029.
The Even concept was launched in 2012 and was one of the first brands in the sector to integrate wellness features into its hospitality concept, with adaptive in-room fitness features, healthy food and beverage options and public spaces focused on social and recreation activities.
Even was at the forefront of the hospitality industry in its move to embrace biophilic design – a concept that celebrates our innate connection to nature. This is demonstrated at the hotels by natural bedding, soothing colour palettes, fresh scents and living features, such as living walls.
Even Hotel Dammam
Designed to be a “third space” where guests spend their time (after work and home) each of the bedrooms at the Even Hotel Dammam will have the brand’s signature wellness zone – with a choice between in-room fitness gear or calming corners where guests can unwind.
The property will have a spa, a Soul Studio for yoga and movement classes, as well as an Athletic Studio with zones for strength, cardio and recovery.
The dining options will range from nutritious to indulgent in social areas that have spaces for quiet calm, for work or relaxation, or connection.
Developed in partnership with Marassi Al Bahr Development Company (a subsidiary of Al Khaldi Holding group) the hotel will be located within the King Abdullah Civic Centre in Dammam. It will provide guests with direct access to government buildings, cultural institutions and commercial zones and in an area that is known as a burgeoning civic and business hub.
Haitham Mattar, MD of IHG Hotels & Resorts for India, Middle East & Africa, said: “We're proud to be launching our Even brand in the region with the signing of Even Hotel Dammam. Lifestyle has evolved into the ultimate differentiator in hospitality – it’s no longer about aesthetics alone, but about fostering identity and belonging. Today’s travellers seek immersive, authentic experiences that resonate with their personal values, from innovative cuisine to meaningful connections."
Mattar added, "As Saudi Arabia advances its Vision 2030 ambitions, Even Hotel Dammam embodies IHG’s commitment to innovative hospitality that aligns with the Kingdom’s focus on lifestyle and holistic wellbeing."
Even Hotels worldwide
The brand has 37 hotels globally. Twenty-four of these are found in North America (with eight in the pipeline). Thirteen are located on mainland China where they were first introduced in 2017. There are also 22 in the pipeline for China.
IHG in Saudi Arabia
IHG currently operates 45 hotels across six brands in Saudi Arabia, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites and Voco. It has 47 hotels in the development pipeline set to open within the next three to five years.
