Cineworld to anchor £80m Hinckley scheme

Cinema operator Cineworld has been confirmed one of the anchor tenants for an £80m redevelopment of a bus station in Hinckley, Leicestershire.
A five-screen multiplex cinema forms part of the 270,000sq ft (25,084sq m) complex, which will also include a bowling alley, a Sainsbury's supermarket and restaurants. The Tin Hat Regeneration Partnership - a joint venture that comprises Coalville-based Wilson Bowden Developments and Centenary Ashcroft – is leading the scheme.
Plans drawn up by T P Bennett + ENGLE were submitted to Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council earlier this year to progress the Crescent scheme. Will Robinson of Wilson Bowden, speaking on behalf of the partnership, said: "We have been working closely with both operators for some time to integrate their requirements into our design, and now that they are secured, we will look to make further progress with other operators, who have confirmed their desire to come to Hinckley, in early 2011."
The scheme is slated for completion in 2014.
