Alila Hotels will open eco-garden hotel in Bali, designed by URBNarc architects
Alila Seminyak will open on Bali’s southwest coast this September, it will be the second new Indonesian property from the luxury boutique resorts group, following the development of the new Alila Villas Bintan.
Alila Seminyak will be a prime beach frontage resort, comprising 72 suites, 69 residences. Green space will dominate both the interiors and exteriors, which will also have extensive events space, a Spa Alila and restaurants.
The Alila business model includes residential villas and suites for sale.
Designed by architects URBNarc, the property will be themed as a private garden, connected by a labyrinth of green corridors and natural landscaping, with rooftop pools and gardens. The innovative design and architecture is based on rice paddy fields.
The hotel’s construction has involved locally-sourced, recycled and reclaimed building materials. Additionally, low energy light fixtures have been used, while rainwater is harvested for re-use and environmental building management systems have been installed.
As a result, Alila Seminyak has exceeded requirements for the sustainable design assessment 'Global Standards in Building, Planning and Design Certification', which is carried out by Earthcheck.
Steve Jeisman, , who developed the spa brand for Alila in 2006 and has been director of spa and development ever since, told CLAD that the property’s signature Spa Alila will offer six double therapy rooms and one signature spa suite – complete with twin Vichy showers, a silk bath, heated treatment beds, twin rain showers and a steamroom.
The other six couples’ suites each comprise an indoor day-bed, in addition to treatment beds and steam showers. Also within the spa will be a Thai massage room, a reflexology room – with five lounge beds – a spa lounge, as well as a hair and nail salon.
The fitness will offer a gym and a yoga studio.
"Spa Alila infuses a cosmopolitan edge within these lush tropical settings by embracing both the buzz of Seminyak and providing a luxurious spa sanctuary where nurturing treatments and therapies using 100% natural Alila Living products are tailored," said Jeisman.
Alila Seminyak will be the fifth Alila managed property on Bali, joining Alila Villas Uluwatu, Alila Villas Soori, Alila Manggis and Alila Ubud.
