Canyon Ranch preps for major expansion with new destinations in Austin, Fort Worth and Houston
– Jeff Kuster
US wellness lifestyle brand Canyon Ranch is set to strengthen its portfolio with two new urban clubs and a brand-new destination resort in Texas.
The company has partnered with real estate investment trust VICI Properties* to secure up to US$200m (€204.6m, £178.7m) in capital to develop an Austin-based wellness resort in the Texas Hill Country, with plans to begin construction in 2023 and open to guests in 2025.
Meanwhile, the two urban properties – based in Fort Worth and Houston respectively – will be based on Canyon Ranch’s new members-only urban wellness club concept that’s been designed to help its guests lead healthier happier lives.
The brand’s existing portfolio includes resorts in Tucson, Arizona, Lenox, Massachusetts and Woodside, California. It also operates a day spa and fitness centre in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Canyon Ranch says the upcoming projects are part of its wider strategy to create a ‘comprehensive ecosystem of experiences designed to support guests with a lifetime of guidance’. Part of this also involves the recent launch of a new branded app.
“First and foremost, we exist to help people live better, longer,” said Jeff Kuster, CEO of Canyon Ranch. “Expanding access to our resorts with the Austin location is just one part of a broader Canyon Ranch strategy to engage with our guests on a lifetime journey of wellbeing.
“Plus, guests will soon be able to begin or continue their wellness experience at our new Canyon Ranch Clubs and be supported by our digital app.
“The Canyon Ranch ecosystem will surround you with insights, skills and the motivation needed to achieve true transformation. By meeting our guests where they are, Canyon Ranch can seamlessly support them no matter how or where they want to engage with us.”
The Club in Fort Worth, Texas will open in late 2023 followed by The Club in Houston, Texas, in 2024.
