Hard Rock casino site opens in Florida

One of Florida’s largest casinos has opened at the Seminole Hard Rock hotel in Hollywood, Florida.

The 130,000sq ft casino is part of the Hard Rock hotel, built on 100 acres of the Seminole Hollywood reservation, and includes 40 live action poker tables, lightning bingo and more than 2,000 electronic gaming machines.

Open 24 hours a day, the casino is just one of the facilities available at the 500-room hotel.

At the centre of the five-acre, lagoon-style pool area, stands an artificial rock mountain, from which guests can enjoy a 182-foot waterslide.

Other poolside facilities include a pool bar, waterfalls, a lazy river, hot tubs and a children’s pool.

The hotel also provides a selection of retail shops, nightclubs and restaurants – including the flagship Hard Rock Café and the Council Oak, plus a steak and seafood restaurant.

The hotel’s entertainment is heavily based on rock music and a 50ft neon guitar, modelled after one played by Jimi Hendrix, will greet guests arriving at the site.

A 5,600-seat Hard Rock Live venue will open later in the year, with negotiations underway to create a recognized scene for rock concerts.

The hotel will also include a European-style Contour Spa, offering a range of treatments, including hydrotherapy, manicures, holistic massages and the traditional Jewish Mikveh ritual.

The Seminole Hard Rock hotel and casino is part of Hard Rock Café International, owned by the Rank Group.

Hard Rock Café International operates over 100 Hard Rock Cafes in 44 countries. Details: www.hardrock.com
