Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan launches new Fitness Hub with recovery facilities
– Luisa Anderson, regional director of spa for Four Seasons in Asia Pacific
Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan in Ubud, Indonesia, has unveiled a new Fitness Hub, almost year after the property launched its redesigned Sacred River Spa at Sayan.
The new 536sq m fitness centre is located high above the Ayung River, with panoramic views of the jungle.
It has multiple training modalities and offers a range of recovery therapies.
The facilities on offer include a gym, measuring 75sq m, with equipment by Prima Fit Indonesia and Life Fitness.
There is also a private gym room, a pilates studio, consultation room, lounge and reception.
A separate recovery room houses an ice bath by Age In Reverse, steamroom, sauna, a zero-gravity lounger with infrared technology and a PEMF mat by HealthyLine.
There are also three outdoor plunge pools. Each 30sq m pool’s water is set to a different temperature: warm, hot and ambient.
The changing rooms each have their own steamroom and sauna, supplied by Indonesian manufacturer Mimba Jaya.
There is also a boutique and Fit Bar for drinks and snacks to fuel workouts and assist recovery. These include protein bars, kombucha and sugar-free cookies.
Access to the main gym is free, but there are charges for access to the recovery facilities, Pilates studio and the private gym room, which accommodates two guests at a time for a more personalised experience.
A 90-minute contrast therapy and breathwork session in the recovery suite using the ice bath, steamroom and zero-gravity lounger costs IDR2,500,000 (US$153, €130, £117).
A 30-minute self-paced hydrotherapy experience using the steamroom and ice bath costs IDR1,000,000 (US$61, €52, £46).
Luisa Anderson, regional director of spa for Four Seasons in Asia Pacific told Spa Business: “Fitness Hub is a complete space, designed to support your mind and body. It’s perfect for unwinding, detoxing, and recovering after your workout.”
Sacred River Spa at Sayan
The property’s spa reopened at the end of last year, following a major renovation project.
The 4,970sq m facility was refreshed with a concept inspired by the ancient Balinese philosophy of Niskala, meaning unseen energy, with a special focus on Bali's cultural reverence for water.
The spa reopened with seven treatment pavilions, compared to the three it had before.

The treatment menu was also refreshed, with protocols by Australian product house Synthesis Organics. Read a first-person review of an energy-infused treatment at the spa in a recent edition of Spa Business.
