We believe that our new UK offering with Trainiac by Gympass will give all employees, no matter their previous relationship with fitness, an easy way to build a wellbeing routine that is suited to them
– Rodrigo Silveira, senior vice president of new ventures at Gympass

Corporate wellbeing platform Gympass has launched personal training service Trainiac in the UK. Already live in Brazil and the US, it matches members with a certified coach who supports them on their wellbeing journey.

Through the Trainiac app, a fitness programme with tailored workouts can be created and tracked via connected health metrics. The coach provides feedback by video, text and voice messaging.

According to user data gathered from Trainiac, personalisation drives customer engagement. The platform saw an engagement increase of 22 per cent during the 90 days following app’s activation. Gympass also reports that inactive employees registered an average of 36 workouts in the 90 days after activating Trainiac, with 93 per cent continuing to work with their assigned coach.

“The data shows that employees are much more likely to engage in a wellbeing offering that gives them support and can be personalised to their own goals,” said Rodrigo Silveira, senior vice president of new ventures at Gympass.

“We believe that our new UK offering with Trainiac by Gympass will give all employees, no matter what their previous relationship with fitness, an easy way to build a wellbeing routine that is suited to them. The additional support offered by the Trainiac by Gympass coaches provides those – who may have previously found it difficult to stay committed to fitness – with a simple way to identify their next steps.”

The company’s findings show that employees who engage with wellbeing resources are more productive at work. Around 30 per cent are less likely to leave their job, which provides stability and long-term benefits to employees and the employer.

Trainiac was acquired by Gympass in December 2021, after the company secured US$220m earlier that year and registered 750,000 personal training sessions booked by 50,000 unique users. Recognising it as a growing trend from consumers and one that would increase in demand with greater customisation, Trainiac provided the ideal solution for Gympass to provide one-on-one personal training.

“The complexity of modern life means that beyond access to venues, many users require additional support, accountability and motivation to remain committed to their fitness goals,” said Cesar Carvalho, co-founder and CEO of Gympass, at the time.

The Gympass eco-system, which operates across North America, Latin America and Europe, offers over 50,000 fitness partners, 1,300 exercise classes, recipes and therapy sessions to eligible employees.
