Dr Barbara Sturm unveils stylish London flagship spa debuting exclusive body treatments
– Barbara Sturm
Globally-recognised German aesthetics doctor Dr Barbara Sturm has expanded the global footprint of her Boutique & Spa concept with a new destination in London’s upmarket district of Mayfair.
Sturm is known for her science-based molecular skincare line and spa treatments which have achieved cult status with skincare devotees and celebrities worldwide.
Sturm launched the Boutiques & Spa concept not only to deliver treatments but to educate the public about her rigorous ingredient science approach, healthy skin and wellness.
The 170sq m London spa offers Sturm’s signature facials, skincare consultations with expert aestheticians and private, one-to-one appointments.
The chic Mayfair location is the first of Sturm’s three locations to offer exclusive body treatments and her new Professional Line – a medically advanced skincare collection only offered in-spa after personal consultation.
Set across two floors, the destination has been designed in collaboration with architect Tobias Freytag, who also designed Sturm’s Los Angeles and Düsseldorf spa locations.
The Boutique & Spa’s design exhibits minimalist, modern architectural elements, including a curved, mirrored wall, a sleek, white seating area, the original pave flooring, and a new Discovery Table made from Italian green onyx.
The spa features two Express Facial Rooms for shorter treatments equipped, a retail area and four fully-fitted treatment rooms equipped with Gharieni Groups' Lina Select Alu treatment beds.
For customers who prefer to shop in the comfort of their homes, the spa is offering virtual shopping experiences and at-home facial kits to offer a moment of self-care whenever it’s needed.
“My London patients are among the most discerning in the world when it comes to their skincare knowledge, forever searching for the latest innovations and ingredients to benefit their skin,” remarked Sturm.
“I love London and it’s long felt like a second home to me. I’m thrilled to be officially bringing the #SturmGlow to Mayfair and hope to excite my patients with new inventions, technologies and treatments that have never been seen before.”
Sturm is set to continue her global expansion and intends to open a fourth Boutique & Spa location in Miami’s Design District in May.
About Barbara Sturm
Sturm began her medical career in orthopaedics as part of the team that developed cutting-edge treatments for inflammatory conditions like osteoarthritis.
She then translated science from her clinical research and orthopaedic practice into the field of aesthetics and opened her own medical clinic in Düsseldorf. As Sturm continued to innovate, she became one of the most sought-after beauty doctors in the world.
In 2002, Sturm developed her trademark MC1, a bespoke plasma-based cream only available to her patients. The potent cream harnesses the power of the body’s own proteins in a skin-healing formula to address the visible signs of inflammation.
Building on her platform of product performance and innovation, Sturm launched a full skincare range in 2014 – Dr Barbara Sturm Molecular Cosmetics line.
