Spa, sky lounge and helipad for ZHA's Miami residential tower

– Chris Lepine
New photos have been released of Zaha Hadid Architects' recently completed One Thousand Museum residential tower in Miami, which boasts 30,000sq ft (2,800sq m) of amenities and a helipad.
The faintly curved tower rises 709ft (216m) and 62 storeys, with an exoskeleton that holds a glazed façade and expansive terraces in place.
“The design expresses a fluidity that is both structural and architectural,” said Chris Lepine, project director at Zaha Hadid Architects. “The structure gets thicker and thinner as required, bringing a continuity between the architecture and engineering.”
Housed within are 4 townhouse units, 70 half-floor units, 8 full-floor units and a penthouse, all accessed via high-speed elevators with destination-entry smart technology.
Among the amenities available to residents are a fitness centre with strength and cardio training equipment, spaces for movement training and stretching and a landscaped outdoor area for other fitness activities.
A double-height aquatics centre features an infinity pool and there's a spa with rooms for massage and beauty treatments, steam and sauna rooms, plunge pools and a relaxation lounge.
There's also a sky lounge with views of the surrounding areas that provides space for relaxing and hosting events, a private dining room and a multimedia theatre.
What is claimed to be Miami’s first private helipad on a residential tower has been included to allow guests to come and go securely and to provide them with easy access to "nearby islands, private and commercial airports, and private yachts".
