Hilltop jungle spa opens at boutique Sri Lankan resort

– Nilangi Godellage
The Haritha Villas + Spa resort in Sri Lanka has opened a new spa set into lush vegetation on a hilltop site with views across the surrounding jungle.
The 3,500sq ft (325sq m) Jungle Spa, which specialises in Ayurvedic treatments, has three treatment rooms spread across two levels and claims to fuse elements of the surrounding nature within all its treatments.
Additional facilities include a Vichy shower, sauna, steam room, 24-hour gym with a jacuzzi and a pavilion where guests can receive unlimited private yoga and meditation classes – all within the natural setting of the Sri Lankan jungle.
The Haritha Villas + Spa boutique resort opened recently, covering an area of 20,000sq m (215,300sq ft) in the south-eastern region of the country.
The destination has nine villas in total, seven of which are sculpted into the hillside, while two enjoy exclusive hilltop locations.
All villas have private butlers – called Villa Masters – and have been designed to embody modern Sri Lankan influences, with minimalist, open interiors that complement outdoor living spaces.
