Xercise4Less partners with blood cancer charity for Men’s Health Week

by Deven Pamben | 14 Jun 2017

Fitness club operator Xercise4Less is supporting Anthony Nolan during Men’s Health Week (12–18 June) by offering free three-day gym passes in exchange for a donation to the charity.

Anthony Nolan works to save the lives of people with blood cancer through its donor register, securing donations of blood stem cells or bone marrow to provide transplants. The charity also researches stem cell matching and transplants.

Simon Tutt, Xercise4Less chief executive, said: “We're proud to be partnering with Anthony Nolan once again. The work they do is so vital to help get more people signed up to the donor register and ultimately, save more lives. This Men’s Health Week we are urging everyone to support a very worthy cause and get donating.”

Heather Addicott, Anthony Nolan corporate partnerships coordinator, said: “The money raised will help fund Anthony Nolan’s pioneering research into stem cell transplantation, allow us to add more people to the donor register, and mean we can be there for every person in need of a transplant.

“By tying in with Men’s Health Week, we hope that this promotion will encourage more young men to join the Anthony Nolan donor register. Young men are more than three times as likely to be asked to donate, but make up just 16 per cent of the register. We need more young men to sign up at www.anthonynolan.org to make sure that we can find a donor for every person in need of a transplant.”
