Dusit to make Nepal debut with mountaintop resort
Thailand-based hospitality company Dusit International has signed a management agreement with property investor Omstone Asia Capital Nepal to operate its first property in Nepal.
The Dusit Thani Himalayan Resort & Spa – which will house 44 bedrooms and 20 exclusive villas – is scheduled to open in 2020.
While the exact wellness facilities are yet to be confirmed, a spokesperson confirmed the property will have a Devarana-branded spa, providing personalised treatments designed to “promote emotional and physical wellbeing”.
Other facilities will include an all-day-dining restaurant, a bar and lobby lounge, meeting facilities and a swimming pool.
According to Vishnu Mor, principal partner of Omstone Asia Capital Nepal, the resort is the first of a number of properties which will be operated by Dusit on behalf of Omstone.
“This is not just a commercial relationship, it is more of a spiritual collaboration between two companies that share the same beliefs and values,” Mor said.
“It also marks the start of a long and fruitful relationship because we aim to explore more opportunities to work with Dusit, both within Nepal and beyond.”
Dusit currently operates 29 properties across four brands – Dusit Thani, Dusit Devarana, dusitD2 and DusitPrincess – in eight countries.
The group recently announced its plans to grow rapidly and have 70 properties open within the next three to four years (by 2021). It has 50 confirmed projects in the pipeline in key destinations such as Australia, Bhutan, China, Indonesia, Kenya, Myanmar, Oman
In 2018 Dusit will also open the pioneering Dusit Hospitality Management College, a unique fully integrated hospitality school and hotel in Manila, Philippines.
