Romania's largest waterpark opening €3m expansion
Romania’s largest waterpark is undergoing a €3m (US$3.4m, £2.4m) expansion as part of a new entertainment area to open this week.
The new section of Divertiland in Bucharest covers 35,000sq m (377,000sq ft) and features two heated pools, an olympic-size pool and a children’s pool. Additionally, the new area known as Super Paradise will feature 3,000 additional outdoor seats and two new restaurants. The park already features the largest sand beach in Bucharest, a wave pool and 22 waterslides.
The waterpark, which reopened for the summer season on 10 June, will debut the new additions on 17 June. The park covers 400,000sq m (98.8 acres), welcoming as many as 7,000 visitors daily.
“This year we continue the series of investments that are part of our strategy to consolidate the largest aquatic amusement park in Romania, with over 40 hectares of swimming pools, sandy areas, slides, training areas and restaurants,” said Divertiland CEO, Alexandros Poulakis.
“We always pay special attention to the safety and quality of our services and we are ready to welcome more than 180,000 visitors throughout the season.”
