Largest waterpark in northern Brazil opens doors
The first phase of the largest waterpark in northern Brazil has opened to the public as the Curupy Acqua Park Hotel, located in Sinop, aims to become the best waterpark in the country.
Following the park’s launch in the northern state of Mato Grosso in May, its operators say more new spaces will open over time, turning the park into a multi-day destination. Future developments include the addition of a wave pool, sand beach, children’s pool, spa pools, sauna, a lazy river with rapids, restaurants and an aparthotel.
The first stage of development the development includes a pool with three waterslides. The pool features an island at its heart, which is themed around the anaconda with a fountain and aqua ramp. Following completion of the masterplan, the park will cover 80,000sq m (8.6 million sq ft).
"Developments such as Curupy Acqua Park demonstrates the greatness of this machine that can generate employment and income through tourism facilities,” said Brazilian MP Fernando Assunção.
“The owners of Curupy Acqua Park are pioneers of Sinop who believe in the potential of Mato Grosso, this time creating this postcard to the city.”
