Teleport to a hidden jungle paradise in winter 2016/17
Event design company, Strong & Co, says it will bring a “warm, hyper-real tropical paradise” to Europe in the middle of winter 2016/17.
The company, famous for its pop-up experiences at big cultural events, such as the UK’s Glastonbury music festival – is seeking funding for its latest venture, dubbed Summerland.
It envisions a four-hour live experience that will take visitors from the cold, wintry streets of London into the heart of a sweltering jungle filled with lagoons, beaches, a crystal cave, an Indiana Jones-style maze and a 40ft (12m) heated waterfall.
The space – described by its creators as a “live theatrical wonderland” – will be inhabited by character performers and live bands. In between exploring, guests will be able to enjoy games areas, swim-up bars and a dancefloor.
“Winters in Europe are long and escaping the cold means a flight,” said MD, Deborah Armstrong. “Often people do not have time and money to spare, but still crave the chance to relax and reconnect in the warmth. This is why we've created Summerland. Audiences check-in at our departure lounge before teleporting into a hidden paradise.”
Armstrong, is seeking investment via online funding platform Seedrs. Currently over £150,000 (US$227,000, €213,700) of the £696,000 (US$1m, €991,000) target has been raised.
