Investor Tanota Partners opens Dusit Thani Guam Resort with design by O.A. Coloma
Dusit International, the Bangkok-based hospitality operator, has announced it will open Guam’s first newly-built resort since 1999, the Dusit Thani Guam Resort.
Situated on Tumon Bay, the 30-floor beachfront resort is the tallest building on the island and will soft-open this month with half of its 419 bedrooms and suites coming on stream.
O.A. Coloma is the architect behind the building’s design. Studio Q designed the interiors for the public spaces, while Donna Baker designed the guest rooms.
Owned by Tanota Partners and managed by Dusit International, the Dusit Thani Guam Resort will feature a 1,169-square-meter (12,583-square-foot) convention space, yoga and pilates studios, a swimming pool and waterslide, and four dining venues.
The Dusit Thani Guam Resort will also have a 10-room Devarana Spa – Dusit’s signature spa concept – which will be completed in time for the resort's grand opening later this year. Facilities will include steam, sauna, a vitality pool and Vichy shower.
The Devarana Spa will be managed by Dusit and will use marine- and plant-based products from French brand Algotherm, as well as herbal preparations using fresh, natural ingredients from the island.
“The resort represents many firsts for the island, from its size, to its convention centre and Thai spa and cuisine," said Dusit International VP, Erena Chan. "Most significantly it’s the first time gracious Thai hospitality has been being offered in Guam.”
