Ashford Hospitality buys WATG-designed eco-conscious Bardessono Hotel and Spa for US$85m
Publicly-traded Ashford Hospitality Prime has bought eco-conscious Napa Valley, California, property Bardessono Hotel and Spa for US$85m (€75.7m, £54.8m). Remington Lodging will take over property management at the WATG-designed property once the sale is completed, which is expected in approximately 30 days.
"The acquisition of the award-winning Bardessono Hotel and Spa fits perfectly with Prime's strategy of finding quality, high RevPAR assets in gateway and resort markets," said Monty J. Bennett, Ashford Prime's chair and CEO.
The property, built in 2009 with a focus on green practices, is the only LEED Platinum certified-hotel in California and one of only three LEED Platinum certified hotels in the U.S. It features an on-site spa as well as a fitness centre, rooftop pool, vegetable garden, and the availability of carbon fibre bicycles and Lexus Hybrid vehicles for guest use.
The spa designs treatments around the different needs of each season, so that immune system enhancement and circulation are highlighted in winter, while purification and vitality take centre stage in spring. Product lines include Carita, emerginC, Dr. Alkaitis, and Ultra Technology.
The Bardessono originally went on the market in February, as reported by Spa Opportunities.
