CampbellGray partners with Jordan’s Audeh Group and numerous designers for hotel revamps

by Jason Holland | 12 May 2015

A grand hotel considered one of Malta's major landmarks is among a portfolio of properties that will be redeveloped by CampbellGray Hotels as the first of a partnership with Jordanian-based trading company Audeh Group.

The Phoenicia, in Malta’s capital Valletta, will undergo a phased re-launch starting in summer 2015. Peter Young Design and Mary Fox Linton will completely refurbish the hotel, while staying sympathetic to its Maltese heritage.

A health club and spa with eight treatment rooms, a gym, and both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool will be added, along with two new ‘Sky Suites’ on the hotel’s roof. The Phoenicia’s grounds will be completely re-landscaped.

Another project is at The Machrie Hotel and Golf Links on the Isle of Islay in Scotland, which will be re-launched in 2017. Existing facilities will be refurbished by Peter Young Design and Mary Fox Linton, with the aim of creating an “international destination in world golf”. As part of the redevelopment, 48 new bedrooms will be built.

A third project is for the Le Gray Amman Hotel and Residences in Jordan. Residential and commercial office components will debut in late 2015, followed by the opening of Le Gray Amman Hotel in 2017. Interiors are by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio with facades by Architecture-Studio Paris.

As a result of the new partnership, CampbellGray Hotels also announced plans to create a line of hotels and resorts at a more accessible price point, while retaining a reputation for luxury.

The partnership will develop its strategy from new offices in Knightsbridge, London.
