Skidmore, Owings & Merrill create Four Seasons Bahrain Bay
Four Seasons Bahrain Bay has opened on a private man-made island off the Kingdom’s capital city, Manama.
Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, the 273-key property has interiors by Pierre-Yves Rochon, EDG and Los Angeles-based Waldo Fernandez.
The urban resort has five different swimming experiences, including a children’s pool, a pool that sets the scene for a cocktail lounge during the evenings, a free-form infinity pool, indoor spa pool and a saltwater experience.
The hotel also has Four Seasons' largest spa at 37,512sq ft (3,485sq m).
Masterminded by Rochon and Blu Spas Inc, it houses 17 treatment rooms, plus his and hers spa lounges – all located within four interconnecting garden buildings.
There are also two gyms at the property, one unisex and one for women only.
Complete with seven dining venues, the resort will be operated by 600 staff.
