Six Senses Spa to complete resort offering at Thailand's Evason Hua Hin
Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas has signed a licence agreement with the owner of a beach resort in Hua Hin, Thailand, to operate a Six Senses Spa as the property undergoes significant refurbishment.
Pending the acquisition of the property by the Hua Hin Property Fund, the resort operated under a temporary license agreement with Six Senses under the management company’s brand Evason. During this time, no licence agreement was in place to operate under the brand of Six Senses Spa so the resort operated its spa facility under the name of the Earth Spa, which carried no such trademark.
“Subsequently under the ownership of the Hua Hin Property Fund and with its commitment to invest in refurbishment of the resort facilities, Hua Hin Property Fund has entered into a license agreement to operate the resort under the brand of Evason and the spa as a Six Senses Spa,” a spokesperson for Six Senses told Spa Opportunities.

The 192-bedroom resort, located three hours from Bangkok and on the Gulf of Siam, the newly revamped spa features four indoor treatment rooms, six treatment pavilions – two of which are open-air and surrounded by ponds filled with water lilies – and a relaxation area with suspended chairs. A sauna, steamroom and chill shower also feature within the spa.

A cave room is also included on-site, which features orange LED lights, the colour of which are supposed to have positive effects on one’s alertness and activity levels. Guests can also enjoy Thai therapies, meditation and have a ‘Himalayas Singing Bowls Massage’ within the cave.
“Our experienced team offer a variety of treatments ranging from the beauty touch ups, to holistic massages and results-driven detox programmes,” said Mark Sands, area director for Thailand & Vietnam of Six Senses Spas. “We are also delighted to be offering ‘Yogic Detox’ and ‘Discover Yoga’ from our recent yogic-inspired wellness programmes, providing a layered approach to wellness.”

The refurbishment of the resort started in May and will finish in November. Costs have not been disclosed. Other changes include new white wash finishes to all guestrooms and the plunge pools in all 40 pool villas will be resurfaced with turquoise pool tiles. The resort’s room inventory will also include the introduction of Family Suites. Dining outlets will be upgraded with new furniture, soft goods and interior enhancements while the main infinity pool decking will be replaced with aged pine.
