Medically supervised Pro Natal Wellness centre to be unveiled in Mexico City
Pro Natal Wellness centre designed to promote a healthy and happy pregnancy, will launch in Santa Fe in Mexico City this September.
It is set be the first medically supervised maternity wellness centre in Mexico and will offer acupressure specialists, homeopathy experts, nutritionists, and wellness coaches.
The 900 sq ft (84sq m) facility is an extension of the Medical Maternity Centre and will be located in the penthouse of the Bite Medical Hospital.
The treatment menu has been designed specifically for each phase, before, during and after pregnancy, aiming to sooth and alleviate swollen feet, sore sensitive lower backs, swollen breasts, sciatic nerve pain, as well as other general aches, which may come along with pregnancy.
Gynecologist Dr. Jesus Lujan, who directs Medical Maternity Centre, and his wife Alexandra Volin have participated in the creation of the maternity wellness treatment menu in coordination with the consulting firm Mestre & Mestre Spa.
The treatments are divided by trimester. During the first trimester the body is going through many changes and adjustments and Lujan does not recommended massage, however after twelve weeks pregnancy massage is deemed safe. Lujan said pregnancy massage at this stage could increase blood and lymph circulation easing the stress and preparing the body for labour.
Other treatments include personalised facials to bring out the natural glow and prevent skin discoloration and facial spots. Pro Natal Wellness also addresses all the needs after pregnancy: getting in shape, losing weight, toning the skin, easing discomfort on the pelvic floor, swollen breasts and sore backs.
Unique treatments like a non-traditional temazcal with specific herbs from the Sonora desert are incorporated in the experience to detoxify the body before pregnancy or to soothe the pelvic floor after pregnancy.
Owner of Mestre & Mestre Spa, Diana F. Mestre, said that personalising each treatment with special essential oils and organic products is part of the Pro Natal Wellness concept.
"It is important to make sure that the mother has absolute confidence on the protocols and natural organic selected products utilized on each treatment.
"Educating programs and seminars for breastfeeding, fertility and connecting with the new born baby are also part of the mission statement."
Facilities include three treatment rooms, including a double room for couples, a relaxation lounge and a spa boutique.
All massage therapists will receive an onsite specialized training on prenatal and postpartum by the medical team, allowing the staff to alleviate pregnancy related issues.
