Bollywood producer Sidhwani joins Dubai movie park team
Dubai-based real estate company, Meraas, has partnered with Bollywood producer Ritesh Sidhwani to develop its US$600m (£391m, 447m euro) movie-based theme park - Dubai Adventure Studios.
Sidhwani will act as the brand ambassador and assist in advising Meraas on films that will be incorporated at the park.
Dubai Adventure Studios will form phase one of a three-phase project spread across 8m sq ft (743,224 sq m).
Hosting major US-based movie IPs, the 2m sq ft (185,806sq m) park is to be developed near the Arabian Ranches intersection.
Slated to be complete at the end of 2014, the theme park will comprise five zones featuring the games and new-generation rides. It will also include hospitality and food and beverage zones.
Sina Al Kazim, chief business development officer, Meraas Holding, said: "Meraas recognizes the need for a theme park in Dubai that will complement the UAE's growing popularity as a tourism hub.
Dubai Adventure Studios will offer a truly unique experience that will set a distinctive benchmark in the evolution of the theme park industry."
