Astrup Fearnley Museet, a new NOK650m (US$106m, EUR86m, £69m) contemporary art attraction, is scheduled to open its doors in Oslo, Norway, on 29 September.
The museum will be situated on the city's waterfront and will be housed in a new 7,000sq m (75,347sq ft) building designed by renowned architect Renzo Piano.
Design features of the building include a double-arched glass roof filtering daylight into the main exhibition space for temporary exhibitions at the new Astrup Fearnley Museet.
First opened in 1993, the privately-owned museum boasts an extensive collection of modern art from around the world. The collection dates back more than five decades.
Last month, the Art Newspaper reported that a fire had broken out at the site. However, a spokesperson said it was "nothing serious at all", with the museum still on course to open in September.
The spokesperson said: "Located in a park along the waterfront of the city, the museum will embody the collection of the museum, temporary exhibitions as well as a shop and café."
