Developer unveils Bournemouth cinema plans
Trevor Osborne Group, the Bath-based developer, has unveiled its plans for a £35m cinema development for the Pavilion Gardens site in Bournemouth, Dorset.
The scheme - delayed while Bournemouth Borough Council (BBC) and the Meyrick Estate negotiated the terms of a land swap deal - had originally incorporated a casino. However, the casino element has now been removed from the development plans - designed by Piers Gough of CZWG Architects - in favour of a nine-screen cinema.
The proposals were put on public display at an exhibition held between 23-24 March, and it is hoped that plans will be submitted to BBC this month. Work is due to start in autumn. Trevor Osborne said: "The Odeon Cinema is keen to move to our new development and there'll be an opportunity to create something distinctive in the space they leave behind."
