The proposed new leisure centre for Godalming
Waverley Borough Council (WBC) has unveiled plans for the development of a new leisure centre in Godalming, Surrey.
ISG has been appointed to deliver the £6m facility, which has been designed by Pozzoni and will feature a 25m swimming pool and a learner pool. A gym; a dance studio; and a café are also proposed as part of the development, which will replace the town's existing facility.
Energy efficient measures are to be incorporated into the construction process, including renewable options for heating both the building and the pool water. It is hoped that work will be able to start in April 2011, with a scheduled completion date in autumn 2012, subject to receiving planning permission.
The proposed site of the new Godalming Leisure Centre is at Broadwater Park, adjacent to Godalming Lawn Tennis Club.
