Eco hotel for Bristol airport
EPR Architects have gained planning permission for an eco-friendly hotel at the Bristol Airport.
The 251-bedroom hotel will be located close to the terminal building and is designed to be sustainable, minimising the consumption of energy, materials and water through the selection of construction materials and technologies that minimise site wastage and that are locally sourced wherever possible.
The ‘social heart’ of the hotel is the ground floor reception area which can be entered either from the car park or from the pedestrian path from the terminal.
Facilities at the £20m hotel include a restaurant and bar, three meeting rooms, staff accommodation and administration offices are located close to the reception area in the north wing.
The hotel will be owned by hotel group Pedersen, which already owns three hotels in Bristol – the Novotel on Victoria Street, the Mercure on Welsh Back and the Ibis at the Temple Quay.
