Local residents are being invited for another round of public consultation into Bristol City Football Club's (BCFC) proposals for a new 30,000-seat stadium at Ashton Vale.

Plans for the new stadium, which will be built on a 42-acre (17-hectare) site near the David Lloyd fitness centre and the Long Ashton park and ride facility, are due to be submitted to the local authority later this year. The club first asked local residents to have their say about the scheme in November 2008, and now further exhibitions at two local venues will be held at the end of February to display the updated project masterplan as well as stadium designs.

BCFC chair, Steve Lansdown, said: "A new stadium would bring substantial benefits for both the club and the city as a whole, creating a world-class sports facility, strengthening the local economy and driving the ongoing regeneration of south Bristol. "These exhibitions will now give residents the opportunity to see how they have influenced the development of the site, view the latest designs and put forward their thoughts on the look of the new stadium."
