Green light for Houston Dynamos stadium

Houston Dynamo has been given the green light to proceed with the development of a new 22,000-seat 'soccer-specific' stadium in downtown Houston, Texas, US. In addition to hosting the club's Major League Soccer home games, the proposed venue is to be used for Texas Southern University football, concerts and boxing events. A planning application for a new £8.5m competition-standard swimming pool in Blackbird Leys, Oxford, have been submitted to the local authority. ODA appoints Water Polo Arena contractors

Work on the 5,000-seat Water Polo Arena at London's Olympic Park has now started after the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) named the contractors for the scheme. The Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission in Minneapolis, US, has confirmed that snowfall caused the inflatable roof on the city's Metrodome to deflate.
