The Transport Museum of Hungary is building a new home in Budapest and has chosen New York architecture practice Diller Scofidio + Renfro to design it, following a competition. The new mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has suspended work on Thomas Heatherwick’s controversial Garden Bridge project over concerns that more public money will be required to complete the £175m (US$225.6m, €204.4m) project. Khan officially supports the plans to build the 367m long plant-filled bridge, but only if no more than the agreed £60m (US$77.3m, €70m) in public funding is made available to build it. US President Barack Obama will promote the advancement of liveable cities next week with a White House budget proposal raising money for green transportation projects. Gensler takes London’s transport future underground with active commuting concept

Design firm Gensler has been awarded a London Planning Award for its London Underline concept – a network of cycle and pedestrian paths running beneath the city. Gensler first came up with the idea for the London Underline in 2014. With London’s population higher than ever, the firm looked for ways to expand public space and offer alternative transport routes. The answer, they found, was underground in disused tube tunnels.
Glasgow's £74m Museum of Transport to open next week

The Zaha Hadid-designed Museum of Transport in Glasgow - also called the Riverside Museum - will open its doors to the public next week (21 June).
