Stefano Boeri has taken his Forest City concept to Mexico, with the new 557 ha (1,376ac) Smart Forest City Cancun to incorporate 400ha (988ac) of green space, 7,500,000 plants and 2.3 trees per inhabitant. Colour standards company Pantone has announced a "fresh and zesty yellow-green shade” as the Colour of the Year for 2017. One of Copenhagen’s most popular parks will be filled with sunken pools and water-purifying plants to ease the risk and impact of flooding and to create a public space with a difference.
