Tech firm Exerp secures PureGym partnership

Fitness tech and software firm Exerp has secured a strategic partnership agreement with budget gym chain PureGym.

The deal will see Exerp, which specialises in providing membership software for the fitness industry, become PureGym's member management system provider on a long-term contract.

Exerp – which is majority-owned by equipment supplier Technogym – has worked in the past with both of the PureGym Group’s major brands (PureGym in the UK and Fitness World in Denmark), but the new contract represents a "complete reset of arrangements for the future".

The new partnership will, for example, enable and support the development of PureGym’s ongoing international development activities in the US, as well as the group’s first franchising partner in Saudi Arabia.

Humphrey Cobbold, CEO at PureGym, said: "We are one of a small number of 'Premier League' operators in the rapidly developing global budget gym industry and the effective application of technology to every aspect of our business is critical to our success.

"We've worked with Exerp for many years, but this new, forward-looking partnership represents a complete reset of our technical strategic and commercial arrangements.

"The application of technology, data, business information and increasingly AI is and always has been critical to our business.

"This renewed mutual commitment with Exerp is a critical future component of our strategy and we look forward to many years of successful collaboration."

Rémi Nodet, Exerp CEO, said: "We will be providing PureGym Group with a full suite of leading-edge, cloud-based software services coupled to ongoing professional development support.

"We first worked with PureGym when the business had just 50 sites and are proud to have contributed to the Group’s growth to more than 500 sites now.

"We look forward to applying our versatile and scalable software to supporting the Group as it grows to 1,000 sites and beyond."
