Six Senses opens Ibiza property designed by Jonathan Leitersdorf
Six Senses Ibiza, conceived by architect and developer Jonathan Leitersdorf, has opened today (10 July 2021).
“Six Senses Ibiza is a reflection of the natural vibrations and vitality of the Balearics,” said Leitersdorf. “By channeling the destination’s unique sense of community and celebration, we've created a truly transformative environment where guests are invited to meaningfully connect with nature, each other and themselves, while discovering the elements that make Ibiza unlike anywhere else in the world.”
The year-round destination is set in Xarraca Bay at the northern tip of the island, 35 minutes drive-time from the airport. It features 116 guest rooms and has been integrated into the contours of the bay to enable guests to enjoy unobstructed sunsets.
In addition to rooms and suites, Six Senses has also introduced cave suites built into the cliffs, along with a handful of Village Residences for larger groups or longer-term stays.
The resort delivers Six Senses' Integrated Wellness programmes, based on the company's six pillars of wellness – sleep, eat, spa, move, mindfulness and grow.
The spa offers signature and locally-inspired treatments, biohacking to "optimise the body’s natural recovery systems", multi-layered wellness workshops and bespoke skincare solutions.
It also has an Alchemy Bar, in-house experts and visiting practitioners.
The Rose Bar is a destination for longevity programmes, combining diagnostics with nutritional guidance and modern healing methods to optimise health and performance.
The 12,900 square foot (1,200 square meter) space houses a fitness area, rooftop yoga platform, outdoor boxing ring, steamroom, salon and hot bath.
The property is partly powered by renewable energy – the company says up to 51 per cent at any given time – and has zero waste and zero single-use plastic targets, enabling it to achieve the status of first BREEAM resort in the Balearic Islands.
The resort also features a real estate development in the form of Six Senses Residences Ibiza. With options from four- to seven-bedrooms, the for-sale properties have been designed for year-round living.
Residents have access to all resort services and amenities including in-room dining, access to a Guest Experience Maker and wellness programming. Owners also receive added benefits across the Six Senses portfolio, including exclusive room rates.
